UGG Australia has been using the Australian Made, Australian Grown logo since it was launched in 1986. The 25 year old family business strongly believes in the value of manufacturing Australian products.

“We have always recognised the importance of being an Australian Made company and since the campaign began, we have felt that it was important to align ourselves with a branding that represents and stands for true Australian Made standards,” says Lena Fishman, Sales and Marketing Manager and second generation of the Fishman family responsible for UGG Australia.

Lena Fishman uses the Australian Made swing tags on all her products and believes that the logo gives her product a powerful point of difference from competitors.

“The customers know that the UGG Australia brand is 100% Australian – from the tannery and the manufacturers to the material we use, our products exist to be part of Australia and help Australians. It is important for us not just to meet EPA standards and quality control, but to go above and beyond this by providing our customers with quality that can only be achieved from quality Australian products.”

“There is increasing competition in the international market, but our competitive advantage is that we are Australian, and that our products are not just imported products claiming to be Australian.  Hollywood stars wear our brand and we know the quality of that kind of endorsement,” says Lena.

As the international market becomes more lucrative and attractive to Australian businesses, UGG Australia already have their products in Russia, Korea and the UK and they have no doubt that the logo will strengthen their markets in the future.

“We have a massive target market including the souvenir market, fashion market and the family stores. We are starting to target the international market stronger than ever and the logo is proving to be effective,” says Lena.
